[attr="class","colsf"]Tempy seems to be that kind of woman that doesn't take any bull shit and on that you would be right. She's not one for flowery words or niceties. They seem to her to be a waste of time. Her sense of humor comes off as odd since it can be rather dark and not even a little bit PC, but more sarcastic. She tries to be a practical woman and for those who meet her, she is a no nonsense capable woman. Intelligent, she doesn't talk down to people and expects to have the same courtesies.
She's fierce in everything and her passions have always run high. She is a fighter, for what she sees as justice and acceptance. She fights for others though, rather than fighting for herself. Deep down, she feels she's a lost cause, but then that leaves her with nothing to lose and everything to gain. Trust is hard earned with her and so when you do earn it, don't screw it up. She's not one for second chances. She doesn't get angry though, when she's angry then you still have a chance. It means she cares. Once she gives up on you, then that's it. Cold as ice and she has no more emotion for you. Good or bad.
Beneath that, is a woman who is constantly worrying over the truth. What makes a monster? Is it just the very act of being a were or vampire? Or was there more to it? She finds the line blurring the more she works with the department. She knows humans that are more monstrous than any vampire and vampires that are more human, so what does it mean? She thirsts for love, but worries she's not capable of it really and not capable of receiving it so has problems when it comes to relationships. Mostly, she just doesn't have them.
Once you get to know her and have earned it, she's incredibly loyal which stretches her boundaries because she will accept you as is. What friend wouldn't? It's herself she has a hard time accepting.

[attr="class","colsf"]She knows how to use several weapons, she is most efficient with guns. She knows how to use a knife and can throw well; she practices regularly. Using a machete, 2/4 small knives for her 2 wrist sheaths, medium-sized knife for her hunting vest, and long knife/short sword in a spine sheath. She is also trained in judo,and kenpo. Since being turned, she hasn't exactly needed the knives so much, but has also picked up Tai Chi as a way to keep her beast at bay and keep control over emotions.
[attr="class","colsg"]history
[attr="class","colsf"]Tempest has no idea who her parents were. She's never tried to find out. She grew up a ward of the state, and had been in and out of homes for as long as she could remember. Never a real family, by the time she was nine she was in a group home, much like a really small boarding school. The world was nothing but the 'system' to her and so she always knew she wanted to be a part of that. She studied hard, not really making friends and dismissing any adults that came around to see about adopting or fostering her.
School went smoothly enough. She got decent grades and by high school had a decent GPA. Thanks to being a ward, college was taken care of, and by this time, she had started training in martial arts as well. It was here she found her calling. It wasn't helping other kids, there were plenty of people to help kids like she had been. Shrinks, foster families, social workers. No, it was the so called 'normal' families that she was going to help. She had an inquisitive mind, a way of seeing things with no opinion. Just paying attention to other people, their reactions, the small details most people weren't seeing. It was perfect for her. To see that which most ignored, to see past that sheen of normal into the hidden worlds where things were anything but.
She started with a degree in criminal justice. She wanted to become a detective and was well on her way. Once she graduated, she got a job at the local police station. She worked hard, and got into undercover work. It was perfect for her. She never came off as a cop and could infiltrate a gang with ease. She proved herself and didn't flinch at the violence that might come up. It didn't last long, as a bust gone bad was put on her. A scapegoat nothing more. She knew it, the force knew it. It was just easier than blaming the idiot who was about to retire that had called for the SWAT team to take the building when she warned them not to. Angry, but knowing that fighting wouldn't work she left. West Coast for East. She worked the private sector. Helping those that cops couldn't.
She was tracking down a guy that wasn't even supposed to be there. He was a wanted man and sure she could go ahead and call the cops at that point, but she was a stubborn one. He had a family he had abandoned and she wasn't going to just let that go. She followed him up the coast and cornered him in the woods. He claimed he was camping but there was no gear. He started getting upset and threatened her. At least that's what she thought at the time. She knows better now. Now she knows that it was a warning. One she hadn't headed. Oh she survived the night, was taken to the hospital. It took her over a week to recover full use of her leg and at that full moon she learned the truth. Unsure what to do next, she worked on keeping to herself and finding a way to control herself. The man was from New York so she's arrived back in the city hoping to find answer.
