Olivia came downstairs from her loft apartment. Scattered about on desks and shelves were many Books of Shadows, parchment, scrolls textbooks and antiques she had collected over the years. She exited the building and locked the door. It was a crisp morning, and it was around six, so the sun was just rising. Her shop was just over the road, but as usual the streets were busy. She pressed the button on the pedestrian crossing and waited for it to change.
As the light turned green, she hurried across the street. Pulling out her keys, she unlocked the door to a Victorian style building and went inside. She lit various candles and turned on the dim lights. It gave a mysterious air to the store. She usually opened at eight, so it gave her just under two hours to set everything up. She tidied up the Anne Stokes and Lisa Parker displays and added some more stock to them.
She checked through her appointment book and noticed she had a reading at ten. Olivia decided to have a cup of coffee before opening. She went into the back and snapped the kettle on. Pouring the boiling water into her favourite Star Wars mug she added a tiny bit of milk and one sugar. She looked at her pocket watch and decided to open up. She switched the sign from closed to open and unlocked the door. She went back behind the counter, and it wasn't long before her regulars came in. Some of them were self-proclaimed Wiccans, and one girl came and bought her regular incense and a pack of tarot cards. "I hope I can be as good as you some day." the girl smiled as Olivia rang up the register. "Believe in yourself, and you will." Olivia encouraged. She looked at the wall clock, it was nearing on ten and she got up from the counter after checking those who had items, out. She was snapped out of her thoughts when she heard the door open.
