[attr="class","colsf"]Jonathan was born from Valentine Morgenstern and Jocelyn Fairchild. Giving that he was raised by his father, he took over most of his personality. He was like his father more than he might have wanted. He was that brilliant person that was very compassionate with people and very charming. Giving the fact his father was a born liar, he himself learned to become that too. Showing no emotion when he lies. Not all of the personality was that bad. Being raised by his father also made him a well educated man. Learning many different stuff about the world. Even learning how to protect himself with many fighting abilities.

At one point things went... complicated. Valentine sends Jonathan to Eden. Known most likely in hell. There he met Lilith. His "birth mother". She made his life a hell. After all those years of torture in Eden, Jonathan left with a masochistic tendencies. To feel "pleasure" in his life. He will often burn his hands. Giving him a comfortable feeling. His knowledge about demons became better while spending time in Eden. Knowing much about the Greater Demons.

Being a Nephilim, Jonathan got blessed with the angel blood of Raziel and the Angelics marks of the Gray book. Giving him enhanced strength, speed, agility, stamina and coordination. Training these powers will keep them improved and slightly better over time.

Giving the fact he is Nephilim also grants him something called the Sight. The Sight is the ability to see through the magical illusion on Earth. Seeing passed the layers of glamour.

Something else that a Shadowhunter uses is Runic Magic. There are so many symbols that could be used on the body, and without any harm to him. It might burn him while trying to put a rune on it, he never minds it. He even likes the feeling. The marks will give different benefits. One of them is a Calm Anger rune on the left side of his neck.

Jonathan has 1 seraph blade he has kept many years with him. It was the same one he has received from his father at the age of eight. It was something special, and he could not think to have him not with him. Too bad he had to die, and lost it. Not receiving it from Lilith. So he has no seraph blade to protect him right now.

One of the many talents Jonathan possesses is Demonic Blood Empowerment. Being implanted with demon blood gives him greater strength and speed than most Shadowhunters. He even has the ability to destroy small living beings like flowers.

Last but not least to be trained by Valentine makes him an expert in hand to hand combat and sword mastery. Something that he will use if he needs to protect himself. He is up for a fight.

Jonathan Christopher Morgenstern was born from his father, Valentine Morgenstern and his mother Jocelyn Fairchild. While Jocelyn was pregnant Valentine experimented with Jonathan in the womb. Injecting his child with pure demon blood. After being born, his demon blood took effect. While slowly getting older, Jocelyn saw the evil inside him. Making her fear him and even wanting him to die. It was not until 1998 that the "wish" came through. After the uprising in 1998 with the Accords, Valentine faked his own death with Jonathan. The plan with burning the Fairchild Manor down with them inside worked. Jocelyn thought they both were gone. Ever since that she has kept a box with Jonathan's belongings.

After the fake death, Jonathan was raised by Valentine alone. In a secret place at Idris, he was being experimented on. Just like the other child Jonathan Herondale. While experimenting with the two, he kept a journal of the progress. There he did develop an interest in Chemistry. Thanks to receiving a chemistry set by his father.

The years passed away and Jonathan developed a murderous tendency. Receiving at the age of eight, his first seraph blade. To make his father proud, he left the cabin he was raised in to kill and skin a large werewolf for him. Coming back with the pelt as a trophy for his father. The years went further and Jonathan got more murderous into stuff. One of his murders was Albert Timberworth. He threw him off a bridge trying to see if he would survive a 32 foot fall. Valentine being scared he was going to be one of the next victims, he chained him in the cabin. Eventually Valentine decided he had to go to Hell. To the realm of Eden. It was when Jonathan thought that Valentine hated him and wanted to protect Jace.

Once send to Eden, he met his mother in human form. At least she claimed to be. It was her blood that was running through his veins. Lilith was her name and also the Queen of Eden. Once Lilith said she loved him, she touched his shoulders and started to burn him. Many other demons went to help her. Cleaning away his skin, layer by layer. Since he was too beautiful for the world. The result making his body disfigured and his face unrecognized. Lilith raised him and learned him how to control his powers and how to use power from his demon blood. It was that he never gave up on hope while being in Hell. Keeping his memories of freedom and hope.

One day Jonathan summoned the Greater Demon Azazel. The demon known for making weapons. In exchange for freeing Jonathan from Eden, he had to free Azazel from his prison known as Duduael. Jonathan agreed and got sent back to "Earth". While being back, he felt nothing. No emotion. No anger, no sadness or even happiness. All was gone and cold after spending so much time at the flames of hell. It was later that he had one emotion. Revenge on his father.

Being back in the world and wanting revenge on his father, he needed a plan. One that could work. So shadownapping Sebastian Verlac from London to take his identity was the plan. he notified the family that he was okay and just needed some time. The plan later went further as he planned Azazel to attack Isabelle Lightwood. The plan was to be the shining knight in armor. Swoop in and saving her. A deed that hoped would give him access to the New York institute. Once saving her, he brought her to his apartment. Giving her the medical care she needed. After she woke up, he offered her a vial of medicine. Something that would help her withdraw the symptoms. The lie went further, as he gained her trust by saying he was previously addicted to yin fen, and that he found his own way to fight and kick the addiction. One of the solution was the root medicine he gave her. it was not hard later to convince her to stay for the night to recover for at least a day.

The plan worked. Isabelle invited him to the Institute. The experience he had with Greater Demons gave him an advance. Since he could give the information about it. Even suggesting a way to defeat Azazel. It was also the time he learned and met Clary for the first time. He noticed how she struggled with her rune powers. Something he knew all that well with his demon powers. It was that he took her aside and suggested to embrace her emotions and not shutting them off. It was when they needed her ability to save Jace and capture Valentine, he told her the harsh truth. Something she did not like at all, but later thanked him for it.

After all the stuff he had done. The trust in him became bigger. More Shadowhunters began to trust him and they even assigned him to the task of Valentine. It was Sebastian aka Jonathan that made a meeting possible for Luke to murder Valentine in his cell. While that was about to happen, Jonathan reported it to Alec. Making Alec take the decision to portal Valentine to Idris with the Clave. There Jonathan took the change with another Shadowhunter he blackmailed. Duncan Armstrong made Jonathan, the soul sword and Valentine disappear with a portal to the cabin he was once raised in. Once there, he murdered Duncan.

Being reunited with his father, he told him the recap of his life in Eden. The way he was treated and how his father send him away. It was that Valentine told him that he was responsible for that and blamed him every day for it, that Jonathan didn't trust him at all. It took the soul sword to really hear what Valentine had to say. It was the truth that Valentine regretted that he send Jonathan to hell. Even telling him that Jonathan was the ultimate warrior. It convinced Jonathan and later had dinner with Valentine, making it a normal family.

Later, Valentine disappeared to Idris to summon the Angel Raziel. Saying that it was too dangerous to come with. Jonathan took the change to stop anyone that tried to interfere. It was a shame that things didn't go as planned. It was that he fought with Jace on the bridge where he was winning, that Isabelle distracted him. Being distracted, he was stabbed in the back. There he continued fighting until he was being kicked off the bridge into the stream. In his dying moments he called for his mother with his blood. Through the rift a few asmodei entered the world and brought him to a cave where he was reunited with his mother.

To make sure that Jonathan was going to rebirth, he needed 33 mundanes to sacrifice their blood. Lilith found those people and made sure the preparations were done. The last 2 things she needed was the flesh of Valentine, which later became his bone and Clary's heart or life force. Lilith did that by marking her on her chest. As long as Clary would be alive, so would Jonathan. Giving them a bond. before Lilith got banished from Earth, Jonathan grabbed Clary and they both disappeared before the explosion. Making them look like they deceased by the explosion. Now he and Clary are hiding together somewhere safe. Away from the others.
