[attr="class","colsf"]Eleanor, since the time she was a young girl, has been known to be quite forceful, an independent woman who often knew her mind. She was said by others, even to this day, to be quite energetic and hold a vivacious personality. She is known to be quite outgoing and can be seen as quite emotionally stable; one known trait is that she rarely grew weepy. Ellie is also known to have a knack for imitating the mannerism of others quite accurately, which caused much amusement from others when she was younger.[break][break]
Because she was raised around six older male cousins, Ellie was never afraid to stand up to anyone, both friends and enemies alike, because they had toughened her up throughout her younger years. She can also be quite harsh towards those with whom she disliked, which could be seen as a fatal flaw of hers. Her harshness went from talking about the person behind their back. During her time at the Paris Institute, which her parents were in control of, she was known to be quite popular and attach much attention from numerous boys, which kind of went to her head. She is quick-witted, funny, and can often make others laugh even when they were feeling down. She’s also quite good at lying and capable of being opaque when necessary, which can also lead to her perfect acting talents that she usually uses for good.[break][break]
She is notably difficult to intimidate or frighten, even known to stand up to others during their moments of rage and anger. Her courage is something that pushes her through the day, especially as a young child in the world of shadow-hunting. She can also be quite resourceful and could get herself out of any problematic situations. After she met and fell in love with Gideon, she seemed to change a little, becoming more in tune with her emotions and portraying them towards the person she was close to. However, after she lost her parents on her wedding night, she became a little more cautious. She became something different, stricter as some would say. She didn’t want to lose anyone else, especially not her new husband. A part of her even threw herself into her work, working to protect anyone that was a Shadowhunter.[break][break]
After becoming a mother, Ellie changed a tiny bit; she became more relaxed, though she kept many of her traits. Raising two beautiful children brought new terror to Ellie’s life, the thought of doing something wrong or losing them, that was a fear that came out of the darkness. But with Gideon at her side, she knows everything will be fine. He is her rock, her witchlight in her dark place, and her partner and lover.

[attr="class","colsf"]due to being a Nephilim, Ellie naturally possessed a variety of enhanced physical and mental abilities granted to her, and others like her, by the angel blood of Raziel in her veins and the angelic marks in the gray book. This includes, and is not limited to, enhanced strength, speed, agility, stamina, and coordination (which improve over time and practice). Ellie is also able to easily see through most magical illusions and glamour over reality, rather easily. The world of weapons, including heavenly weapons, have opened up to her – thus she can use seraph blades that would not normally work for other species.[break][break]
Like all Nephilim, Ellie also can use runic magic and apply marks to her skin without any real danger, which in turn, gives off a varied effect that serves to benefit the wearer. Ellie, much like her father, is also a skilled and talented fighter, and could even be said to be better than her mother due to her extent knowledge and abilities. Over the time, Ellie found out that she was quite skilled in swordsmanship and hand to hand combat, and has even helped train other Nephilim along the way.[break][break]
Ellie, also holds many things in her possession, including the gravestone family stele, which was gifted to her by her parents on her wedding day. She also has the basic shadowhunter gear, including seraph blades, a witchlight, and other various weapons. At her rune ceremony, Ellie was able to pick her weapon of choice and was easily drawn to electrum-laced whip.

[attr="class","colsf"]The Graystone name was never always a Shadowhunter name, or at least, wasn’t one that was known by many. For centuries, the Graystone family had lived the pretty mundane life among the Shadow World, mostly keeping to Idris as their home base. However, it was Annamarie and William Graystone that finally got the family name on the map. They were the first to leave Idris behind and take on the world outside of it all, to protect the people from the downworlders and do a fine job doing so. It was their son, William II that was even offered the position of Head of the Paris Institute, something that would be passed down throughout the Graystone line. Finally, it came into the hands of Archibald Graystone and his wife, Maria. They protected Paris with pride, being one of the well-known families within all of Paris. [break][break]
It was almost four years after their marriage and the gift of the Paris Institute that they welcomed a child into their ranks, one in which they named Eleanor Marie Graystone. Their pride and joy grew in beauty and grace, but not just that, she was also the apple of their eye. The only child that would carry on their legacy when they too passed, though they knew the Graystone name would end with them. With no male child within the family, Archibald would be the last with the family name. But they didn’t care; one child was enough to raise in their footsteps. And that she did, for the next ten years she would train and even become top of her class. On her tenth birthday, however, she left behind her Institute and traveled to Idris where she would continue her training, take her trials, and by the time she became twelve would receive her first rune, the angelic rune, at her Rune Ceremony. Upon receiving her rune, Eleanor was quick to pick her weapon of choice, and while some thought she would pick a sword or something like it, she went with an electrum-laced whip. Her family and many members of the Paris Institute came to her ceremonial party, which took place in Idris before she returned home with them all.[break][break]
However, it was during her time in Idris that she met someone that she instantly bonded with, a young girl by the name of Samantha. Samantha too returned to Paris to serve as a Shadowhunter there, and by the time the two of them turned fifteen, they had become parabatais. Sam was Ellie’s most trusted friend, her confidant and the first person she talked to when a new Shadowhunter arrived at her family’s Institute. She didn’t like him, at least not at first, but Eleanor wasn’t quick to trust anyone that held a rune to their skin. Everyone else, including her parents, just seemed to be interested and welcoming to the new Shadowhunter. Samantha enjoyed his company as well, and Ellie realized that her dear friend slowly gained a crush on him and was sometimes rather jealous that she trained with him the most. However, Eleanor trained with everyone, being the best in her class and the best with a sword within the Institute. [break][break]
Slowly, the two of them seemed to grow closer and closer, Eleanor enjoying his company just as much as everyone else. She looked forward to when they worked together or even spared together because that meant she got to ask questions or answer his own. They seemed to work perfectly together, and Eleanor was oblivious to everyone else around her. While she wouldn’t have called it love, she would have called it a small school-girl crush. And while she didn’t realize that other people picked up on their relationship, she soon realized that her parents had figured it out. While they hadn’t spoken to her about it, they had talked to Gideon about forming an alliance between the Graystone and Monteverde family. Luckily for Ellie, Gideon wasn’t one to speak for her and instead decided to go to her first about it before answering, something she wouldn’t learn until later.[break][break]
It was during a sparring run that Gideon brought up the subject, bringing up the what ifs and such like that. He even gave his argument for the idea, and ended with the words that she wasn’t prepared for “I love you.” She was quick to agree, they did work well together, a marriage between them would be good for the Institute, and she did love him as well. So, after that, they got married rather quickly in a nice little wedding within the Institute. And what would have been a lovely day, turned sour rather quickly. The day after the ceremony was held, she learned of her parent’s death at the hand of a rouge Downworlders, learned that they had gone out in the middle of the night to give her a nice ending to her day to deal with it. And in the process, they lost their life. Eleanor wasn’t the same after that, especially since the Institute was thrust upon her so quickly, but she and her husband were quick to fall into line. But not before they tracked down their killer and found them, Eleanor knew where her duties lied and knew that it would have to be captured and sent to the Alicante for trial, but Gideon surely wanted the same thing she did – it’s death. But they followed orders, for the sake of her parent’s honor and name, captured the beast and sent it on its way.[break][break]
Life went on as normal, running the Institute and such before a year later Eleanor learned she was pregnant with their first child. Pride filled her, fear did as well, but she was excited about it all. Of course, Gideon grew rather protective – something she did not enjoy as much – and security became important to him. Through her pregnancy, she felt like she wasn’t allowed to do much, but she did it anyway, though she stuck to more of the in-Institute work instead of fieldwork, which helped in the long run. Her first pregnancy didn’t go as smoothly though, because, after about thirty-eight weeks, she was placed on bed rest before the baby was finally born. A bouncing baby boy in which they named Archibald, after her father. [break][break]
It seemed not long after their first child was born that they learned the news of another baby coming on the way. However, this time around, Gideon was offered a new position, a seat on the council and a replacement for the head of Paris Institute would be summoned. While Eleanor was scared to lose the only place that reminded her of her parents, she wanted Gideon to take it. So, for some time they continued as normal before someone else came, and they were sent on to Idris, where their second child would be born. While Eleanor had hoped for a girl, they were gifted with a second boy, in which they named Stephen. Traveling back and forth between Idris and the Paris Institute became second nature, at least, until things grew busy. With everything that happened between Valentine, Herondale being killed, Valentine’ daughter disappearing, the angel wish being used and Lilith’s return and the explosion in New York, things had changed. Because of the danger that now grew in the New York Institute, Gideon was picked to be sent over there and by the angel, Eleanor was going as well.[break][break]
Since Archie had already started training, seeing as he was six years old, they decided to leave him in Idris with Samantha’s parents, seeing as they were the most trusted Shadowhunters that Eleanor knew there, but because their youngest was three, Ellie couldn’t leave it in herself to leave him behind. She fought tooth and nail with Gideon to bring him with them, and of course, she won. Once Stephen began his training, she would return with him to Idris to begin the process before leaving him, but not a second before. So, with that, the three Monteverde members traveled to New York, where darkness was rising, and the light seemed to be fading.
