[attr="class","colsb"]The Species
[attr="class","colst"]so these are the species we accept on the site. we understand there may be other species you want to play, we ask that you contact staff regarding that. for the most part, demons and angels are all npc if needed in game.
- shadowhunters Those born, or made, with angel blood. They are also part human, and often referred to as nephilim. They are mortal, and can be killed, injured, and do age. However, their angel blood allows them certain abilities and powers, typically from using angelic runes on their body. They have lived for over a thousand years as both part of the Shadow World. Living among humans, or mundanes, and those known as Downworlders. Their mission is to keep the peace among the Downworlders and protecting the mundanes from any knowledge of the Shadow World.
- warlocks Warlocks are the product of a demon and a mundane. Typically the child is born of deceit. Rape, or a shapeshifter demon. Immortal, they do stop aging at a certain point. Of course, they can wither away, or fade away if bored by life. They are also susceptible to losing their minds when their years start to weigh heavily on them. They are the only Downworlders that can cast magic. Those few born without magic are called the Ifrit. All warlocks are born with a 'mark' that shows that they are half breeds. Born of demon and mundane blood. They are unable to have children themselves. The only exception being an unmarked Shadowhunter. Most are independent, though a more powerful warlock, or High Warlock, is often appointed for larger cities and areas.
- vampires Not born but made. They are not of demon blood as warlocks are, but are infected by a demon disease. They are considered 'undead' and can not go out in sunlight. Destroyed by a stake in the heart, fire, or sunlight. They have increased speed and strength, as well as an increased healing speed. They can often entrance mundanes or other creatures, depending on the strength of their will. Their powers grow as they age. They are sterile, and reproduce by turning mundanes. There is typically a connection between a vampire and it's sire, the one that made them, and the earth from their grave.
- werewolves Like vampires they are infected by a demon disease. They are not undead, however, but are instead alive and able to shift. Shifting into a large wolf, they also have in human form the enhanced senses of the wolf and strength. Changing at the full moon, they can also change at will. They age and die as humans do, though they also have the ability to heal faster than humans typically do. A werewolf is made by another werewolf. Roughly half of those that survive a bite or scratch from a werewolf turn. They prefer packs, a family type environment with it's own hierarchy. This helps them adjust to their new world as well as learn control of their shifting, which is tied to their emotions. Those that can not learn to control their shift are deemed rogue and usually hunted down. A werewolf can also infect a Shadowhunter, turning them, but not other Downworlders. While they can be injured and killed, a seraph blade or silver will lead to lasting damage they can not heal.
- faeries Also known as Fair Folk, they seem to be a hybrid of both angel and demon blood. While they are incapable of lying, they are masters at misdirection and redirection. They are honorable, even beyond vampires, but while they are bound to their word, always know they will follow the letter of their word. Manipulation is a game for them and so making a bargain with these creatures imbued of magic can be incredibly dangerous. They are typically shorter in stature but beautiful and alluring. They are weak against iron and knowing their true name holds power over them, they are for all intents immortal. Divided into two courts, Seelie and Unseelie, there are various types of faeries.
- mundanes Your average human, the goal is that they know nothing of the Shadow World or of those inhabiting it. This isn't always possible though. They can be turned, into vampires or werewolves. They can also become Shadow Hunters by drinking from the Mortal Cup. Though this is frowned upon unless done in ceremony by the Clave.
If they are embued with a rune, they often become Forsaken and go mad. If you wish to be a mundane that knows of the Shadow World, please have a reason as usually something is done about that. If you would like to go from mundane to something else, you will also have to contact staff first with your idea and plot.
