heroes aren't always the ones who win.
they're the ones who lose, sometimes.
they're the ones who lose, sometimes.

Clary’s life had changed dramatically since her eighteenth birthday, and to be quite honest, she doesn’t know if she’d change it for the world. Living the life of a mundane art student wasn’t as exciting as living the life that she was born to live. If it weren’t for her Shadowhunter blood, she would have never met the best people in her life, would have never learned the truth and would have never finally put the pieces back together. Of course, she had wished that her life was like that of the alternate universe that she had gone to, but at the same time, this was what her life was supposed to be. Losing her mother, learning her father was insane and finding out the guy she had fallen in love with…was her brother. It was all surreal for her, and sometimes she thought it would drown her.
They had caught Valentine though, losing the Soul-Sword in the process and killing a bunch of trusting Downworlders. Things weren’t going as well as people had hoped or thought, but once they found the Mortal Cup, maybe things would go back to normal. With the accord in jeopardy because of the swords activation, Clary worried. She worried not only for all Shadowhunters but also how it was affecting Jace. He thought he could destroy it and instead he hadn’t.
Waking up that morning in Simon’s little shack outside of the Jade Wolf. After becoming a vampire, he came here to live thanks to Luke. Clary had been staying here a lot, falling asleep in her vampire boyfriend’s arms. And now that he could walk during the day, maybe they would finally be a normal couple and be able to go back to the way their life was before all of this, just a tad. Slipping from the bed and quickly throwing on a new outfit, she snuck out of place and found her way to the New York Institute, an abandoned church on the outside but had a fantastic interior.
Once inside, she stopped as she watched the bustling of Shadowhunters around the main room, none taking a chance to look her way. It wasn’t long for her eyes to glance over people that she caught a glimpse of her brother, her heart fluttered, but she pushed them down. She loved Simon; she was with him as his girlfriend – plus, Jace was her brother. She needed to get over old feelings, to let them die down within her. Quickly she walked towards him, her shoes padding against the metal-like floor. “Jace,” she said as she grew closer, wanting to grab his attention.
